The [email protected] series is an interesting one.
While its creators are still working on making the music sound fresh, they’ve been able to do so with a variety of technology that allows them to make their music sound like it was produced in the mid-1990s.
We’ve already talked about how the studio-quality sound of IDOL was recorded on a computer at home.
Now, a new technology called Liquidmetal Technologies is providing a better way to achieve that sound in a studio.
Liquidmetal is able to capture a digital audio signal in real-time using the high-end technology of a computer, and then apply that signal to a digital mixer to produce a new waveform.
LiquidMetal has been developed by the IDO Lab, a Los Angeles-based company that specializes in high-quality digital audio processing.
Liquid Metal is able do this because the engineers working on the new technology used a computer to record a series of digital samples using Liquidmetal.
These digital samples are then processed and combined using LiquidMetal’s proprietary software, then produced with an in-house mixer.
The result is a digital signal that sounds like it came from the studio of the 1990s.
IDOL’s debut album, Liquid Metal, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart on March 20, 2017.
The digital audio technology of Liquid Metal has allowed IDOL to achieve the sound it does today.
The band’s new album, The Night, is out May 17, 2018.
