Juventus coach Antonio Conte has declared his side’s upcoming clash with Roma a “big opportunity” for the Italian champions.
The Giallorossi beat their archrivals 4-2 on Saturday, securing a third consecutive Serie A title in the process.
“The derby is an important opportunity for the team and it is important that we show that we can win the game,” Conte said.
Roma boss Rudi Garcia also backed the home side’s chances of securing a Champions League spot this season.
“I think Roma is going to be very, very strong in the Champions League,” he told Italian radio station La Stampa.
“We are a very good team and we know this, we know how to play.
We are always going to play the way we know best, with the same intensity.”
Conte has yet to decide whether he will use the match as a pre-season test for his squad ahead of the upcoming season.
While Roma will be without star striker Andrea Barzagli for the trip to Turin, the Nerazzurri captain will return for the encounter on Tuesday, with Conte keen to see his side show their true colours in the derby.
“We need to show that Roma is not just a team of attacking footballers, but also a team that plays at a very high level, which is a very important thing for us,” Contes added.
We know that we have a very dangerous team. “
Roma will be very dangerous.
We know that we have a very dangerous team.
Roma can score and it will be a big chance for us.
